The Greenwich Hotel in NYC is at the top of my list so let’s hope they have a room ready for me! There are 88 rooms and no two are alike. The beds are all Duxiana from Sweden, there is a spa, an amazing indoor swimming pool and a swanky bar. The only possible downside is that even though you would be in the heart of Tribeca, you might never know it since why would you actually leave the hotel?

While Miami isn’t on the top of my list for an August get-away, I most definitely would not turn down a visit to the Viceroy.  Celebrity-Uber-Designer Kelly Wearstler definitely shows off her style with with polish, glamour and wit.  I can’t think of  any other designer who would have the guts to put a giant chandelier over an  indoor pool. The downside is that one might spend so much time in this hotel that they would forget to go out and enjoy the giant party known as Miami.  Then again, that wouldn’t be so bad – especially in August.

Dinner Time

Restaurant LightingThursday night is my preferred night for going out to dinner. I am not (yet) fried from the work week and the mode seems to be one of happy weekend anticipation. Since I am lucky enough to live in the land of restaurant heaven, there is a long list of places that I love and places that I want to try. My priority list for selecting a restaurant starts with ambiance and then goes on to the menu, the location, the prices, etc. There are a few places in town that I have heard are amazing but I have yet to try them since I won’t eat in a place with cafeteria style chairs and fluorescent lighting – never ever.
