The weather has been absolutely perfect for the last few days – which means that it will soon take a turn. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the turn isn’t to super duper hot and humid. When it does turn hot and humid (and it will), I hope to have a ceiling fan installed in every single room – especially my bedroom. There are so many styles of ceiling fans that it is hard to know where to begin. The good thing is that the feature at the top of my list seems to be the norm these days: a remote control!
In A Quandary Over Ceiling Fans

My husband wants a new ceiling fan for our home office. I figured “no big deal, it is just a ceiling fan and our trip to the lighting showroom would be a quick in and out – buy a fan – go home kind of experience. Not so. There are a lot of things to think about when purchasing a ceiling fan. For example, the blades come in all sort of colors, finishes, and lengths. You can choose to have one blade (true) or five. The fan can have no lights, one light, lots of lights and so on. The prices are all over the place too. My husband and I had a different idea of how much to spend on a fan but we didn’t have to get into a discussion about this today since we are going to delay this purchase for a few weeks so we have an idea of what we really want and what will work in this room. The one thing I am sure of is that we are going to get help from the experts AND buy a really great fan so it doesn’t fall apart like the one we are trying to replace.
I am too embarrassed to post a photo of our current fan but I just might do a “before and after” once I actually have the after.
